Privacy Policy

Overview

ProofTime (“the App”) is a sourdough baking tool developed by Leilei Zhang. This Privacy Policy explains what the App stores, where it is stored, and what we collect.

Short version: ProofTime works entirely on your device. It has no account, makes no network connections, and collects no data. We never see your recipes, starters or settings.

Data the App Stores on Your Device

ProofTime saves the following on your device so it is there the next time you open the App:

• Your settings and last-used values: temperature unit, room temperature, levain percentage, starter activity, flour weight, hydration, salt percentage, feeding ratio and desired weight.
• The starter profiles you create in My Starters: name, hydration percentage, activity level and any notes you add.
• A count of how many times you have started the bulk fermentation timer, used only to decide when to show Apple’s rating request.

This data stays in the App’s storage on your device and is never sent to us or to any third party. If you back up your device with iCloud Backup or to a computer, the data may be included in that backup, which Apple handles under your own account.

Permissions

ProofTime does not request access to your camera, photos, location, contacts, microphone, health data or notifications.

What We Do Not Collect

• No personal information, such as your name or email address.
• No usage analytics and no tracking. The App contains no analytics, advertising or other third-party SDKs.
• No advertising identifiers.
• No data is sold or shared with anyone.

Crash Reports from Apple

If you have chosen to share analytics with app developers (Settings › Privacy & Security › Analytics & Improvements), Apple may provide us with anonymous crash reports and performance data for ProofTime. Apple collects and controls these reports; they do not include your recipes, starters or settings. You can turn sharing off at any time in the same settings.

Rating Requests

After you have started the bulk fermentation timer a few times, the App may show Apple’s standard rating request. Apple handles this request. We only see the ratings and reviews you choose to post publicly on the App Store.

Deleting Your Data

You can delete individual starter profiles in the App by swiping left on them. Deleting ProofTime removes all of its data from your device.

Children’s Privacy

ProofTime is not directed at children under 13. The App does not collect information from anyone, including children.

Changes to This Policy

We will update this page if the App’s data practices change. The “Last updated” date at the top shows the latest revision.
